This Memorial Day, join us as we remember the men and women who have given their lives in the service of our great country. These service members answered the call to protect the freedoms and values we hold so dear, and many did not return home. As we honor their memory, let us all pledge that their lives, their sacrifices, and their service will never be forgotten.

It is with heavy hearts we share the tragic loss of a Golden Police officer, killed tonight in the line of duty while working a traffic accident. The officer’s partner was also hospitalized. We ask our Northglenn community to join us in keeping this officer’s family, friends, and colleagues in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time. 💙

Sending our deepest condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of his loved ones and work family.

Today, on October 9, 2024, we mourn the loss of Adams County Deputy Joshua Tapia, who tragically passed away in an automobile/pedestrian accident on Highway 52 in Ft. Lupton while off duty.

Deputy Tapia was a cherished husband, father, friend, and dedicated deputy who devoted over 25 years of service to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Tapia was also a key member of Rampart Search and Rescue who was devoted to serving the community in any capacity he could.

Deputy Tapia's devotion to teaching, training, and mentorship was a blessing for our agency.

As an organization and a close-knit law enforcement family, we are deeply saddened by this loss. Our hearts and thoughts are with his loved ones, friends, and colleagues in Adams County during this difficult time.
