Fittingly enough, Mr. 3A Baseball Carson Quillen, was both the starter - and the closer - to help capture a second state title for the program in just three years 🏆

Despite a rainy night in Jonesborough, David Crockett Lady Pioneer Softball got the bats out en route to a 15-5 win to claim their spot in the region final.

It was also still a solid night in the circle for Madelyn Dulaney - still making her head coach, and father, proud 🥎

And Thursday night's district title soccer match between Science Hill and Dobyns-Bennett brought just that - and then some.

60 minutes of play would not be enough, so it would be a finish in PK's and another district crown for Dobyns-Bennett High School Athletics ⚽️

At Buster Taylor Field, many gathered to pay tribute to the former Powell Valley coach, alongside members of the 1996 state title team.

Fittingly, it was the coach's daughter - Mercy Buchanan - becoming the Huskie hero by knocking down the game winning three with 12 seconds left.
