*New Episode- YouTube only rn*- In last 2yrs there has been high-profile failures and church cover-ups involving Shaun Bolz, Paul Cain (KC Prophets), Kris Vallotton (Bethel), Mike Bickle (IHOP), and Bethel’s admission of wrongdoing that prioritized leaders over victims.

This episode doesn’t aim to re-expose facts already well documented elsewhere (links below)
Instead, I will focus on:

- How I became so gullible, what psychological need and drives made me susceptible to deception and manipulation within charismatic settings. Relevant to how you too could be manipulated.
- Explore Jeremiah 29 and his warning to prophecy recipients to stop encouraging “prophe-lying”. We like hearing what we want they wanted to hear about ourselves and our circumstances.
- Warnings re: protecting your children’s from your own naivety re: unsafe charismatic environments
- Practical ways to become more discerning, with a Scripture-anchored plan to avoid future deception

Note: I remain theologically charismatic, but far more cautious and “hopefully” discerning in practice today.
