Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe 👑✝️

This weekend we celebrate the final Sunday of the Church year — a powerful reminder that Jesus is not only our Savior, but our King. Not a king who rules with force or fear, but One who reigns from the Cross with love, mercy, and sacrifice.

In a world that can chase power, status, and control… Christ shows us a different way. His Kingdom is built on service, compassion, and truth — and He invites each of us to help build it.

✨ “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom.”
May this be our prayer today and always.

Join us for Mass as we honor Christ our King and renew our hearts in His reign of peace.

Today the Church celebrates the Solemnity of Christ the King also referred to as Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe.⁣
⁣
Pope Pius XI instituted this feast in 1925 to respond to growing secularism and atheism and to provide hope for Catholics abroad that “while governments around them crumbled—the assurance that Christ the King shall reign forever.” This solemnity reminds us that while governments come and go, Christ reigns as King forever (USCCB).⁣
⁣
The feast also points to the theological realities of Jesus’ Incarnation: being fully human and fully divine.⁣
⁣
May all in heaven and on earth never cease to proclaim Christ’s glory.

Today is St. Cecilia's feast day. She is one of the earliest Roman Martyrs and, according to Franciscan Media's write-up on her life, she "has become a symbol of the Church’s conviction that good music is an integral part of the liturgy, of greater value to the Church than any other art."
