It was 12:28 pm on May 18, 1972 when the first radio signal hit the airwaves as WBTX began broadcasting, 54 years ago today!
It’s a journey none of us would have ever dreamed as the Lord led and provided over the years.
This includes:
- rebuilding after the devastating flood from Hurricane Fran in 1996
- placing the format on worldwide internet
- adding the FM signal at 102.1
- placing the format on WNLR in Churchville nearly doubling the AM coverage.
Who would have thought any of this was possible in 1972?
To God be the Glory for all He has done and will continue to do!
Please put WBTX on your prayer list, that local Christian radio can remain on the air until the Lord returns.

We are back on the air!

Tomorrow morning (Thursday, April 16th), at approximately 5:00 a.m., WBTX Radio and WNLR will be off the air in ALL formats (102.1FM, 1470AM, 1150AM, and internet streaming) due to electrical work being done in the area that is shutting down power to part of Broadway, Virginia. We expect to be back on the air by 7:00 a.m., and hopefully will be on the air much sooner. We will keep you updated.
