Vehicle recalls

Stay informed about vehicle recalls, sign up for safety recall alerts on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website.

Nissan backup cameras, Takata airbags recalled

Nissan Motor Company has issued a recall to more than 1.2 million cars, pickup trucks, and SUVs. According to NHTSA, the back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted in a way that makes the rear view image no longer visible, and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse.

Separately, according to NHTSA, tens of millions of vehicles with Takata airbags are under recall, and additional vehicles are scheduled to be recalled. Vehicle manufacturers will determine what models are affected and will launch their own recalls.

To check whether NHTSA has listed manufacturer safety defects for your car, you can visit the NHTSA website and use the VIN lookup tool.

Important: As noted by NHTSA, some vehicles may not currently appear affected by the Takata airbag recall using a VIN search, so it is a good idea to check back later, to sign up for recall alerts, and to make sure the address on your registration is current to be sure you’re notified of this or any other future recall.

Repairs are performed free of charge by dealerships.
