Part 2 of the quarter panel restoration on this 1970 Mercury Cyclone.

In Part 1, I fabricated the new panel from scratch using metal shaping techniques. In this second part, I show how I fit and install it.

While I’m at it, I also remove the B-pillar to clean out all the hidden rust, protect everything with epoxy primer, and put it all back together before welding the new panel into place.

This is the first of two chapters in which I reconstruct this rear quarter panel. In this reel, I show some of the steps I took to fabricate the front of the rear quarter panel for this classic car, a 1970 Mercury Cyclone. In the next chapter, I'll show how I fitted and welded it to the car.
