Good morning! Another warm start to the day, with temperatures only dropping to 76 overnight. Expect a hot and humid afternoon, with highs climbing into the mid-90s and heat index values pushing above 100 across much of eastern Oklahoma. If you love Oklahoma heat, today is for you.
Spending time outdoors? Be sure to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning to avoid heat-related illness.
There is also a marginal risk for severe weather Monday evening and overnight across portions of northeast Oklahoma. Damaging winds will be the primary concern with any stronger storms that develop. We will not have widespread storm activity.
The good news? Cooler and drier air arrives by the middle of the week, bringing highs back into the mid-80s. An unsettled weather pattern returns late in the week and into next week with daily chances for showers and thunderstorms returning.
