I tried some direct recording this evening with mixed results. It has more to do with my playing than with going direct. I’m tired and it was a bit torturous trying to get a good take on this quiet arpeggio picking part I was doing. Idk, right now I think it’s good. It’s heavily effected (for me anyway) so I’ll listen again later and reassess it all. That’s all for now, the brick wall has been hit hahaha

I think it’s been a while since the 1963 Special had a solo spotlight. A perennial fav, I’ve thought about letting it go a few times but never could do it. It’s too good.

Yay I just finished setting up the date for recording the last few things for my album. I’ll be using the Sanctuary at in Troy ❤️. I could’ve done at home Nisky but I wanted someplace unique and someplace that wasn’t a recording studio. Mt Ida was suggested to me and I think it’ll be great. I booked three hours on a weekday morning in early November which should be more than enough to record twenty minutes worth of music haha. The remaining tunes are mostly solo acoustic pieces and one quiet electric one. I’m gonna be using a portable Tascam four track recorder and two extra mics. Really looking forward to it.

Jack reinstalled a door between the kitchen and dining room and Cailie painted it a minty shade of green. It makes a great corner for taking guitar photos since the walls of the dining room are all windows. So here’s the 1959 Gibson for this week’s .

with the 1972 . I was gonna write a long winded thing about what I did this past week and what I’m planning for the next phase of recording but I’m too lazy. Suffice to say that I’m quite happy with my progress and I’m looking forward to what I have planned next.

My dear friend has become a huge pain in the butt this past week. We did away with the second bowl of food and it’s driving him insane. He’s been under my feet constantly and just being a pest. Now mind you, there’s still plenty of food available, just not the two places. 😐

1965 . Its ladder bracing perfectly compliments the X bracing of the Country and Western. It’s a sweet sound when the two of them are played at the same time. Something that I obviously can’t do myself hahaha

Still riding high from yesterday’s recording session. I spent this rainy Monday mixing the tracks. I’m pretty certain they’re done, there’s not much to them and it’s all one session so once the first one is done the remaining tracks fall into place. I’ll be away from Nisky for the next few days so I’ll double check them when I get back. Anyway up next will be tracking a handful of solo acoustic and quiet electric tunes. I’ll be doing the recording myself with a minimalist rig, just need to find somewhere vibey to do it. I have a few ideas, we’ll see what works out.
