Sapphics in love đź’śđź’ś

Okay, so this speed dating event was out of sight. Like, selling out an event is a huge deal but then to see so many folks connecting took it to the next level.

Huge thanks to for inviting us and the *xualresourcecenter to host this event. In days like these, any amount of joy is important, even for a couple of hours.

We look forward to hosting more dating events of all sorts for the community! Stay on the lookout for what we've got going next.

Bi+ pride events are essential!

On May 23rd, the *xualresourcecenter is returning with its annual Pre-Pride House Party! This is an evening for food, drinks, music, prizes and a hell of a lot of bi+ community!

We want you, your friends, your partner(s), and all the allies in your life! Support goes to keeping our community events and resources free! So, y'know, a good cause AND a place to party. That's called a win-win, baby.

In a world that tells bi+ people that they aren't allowed to take space at Pride (and therefore hobbling ~60% of the q***r population but okay), go to bi+ events that center our experience!

Bi+ history is punk rock đź’ś

In preparing for Loraine's memorial, I've been hearing a lot of great stories about her (as if she could get any cooler). So, in the '90s when AIDS activism was at its peak, bi+ people were there. We don't hear that a lot, right? But that doesn't change the fact that we were doing the work. For Loraine, that work took many forms between advocacy, education, and art.

And baking.

As a way to raise funds for the "caring and cure of bloodborne disease," Loraine would make "p***y pies." According to one source, these were sweet potato pies with l***a lovingly sculpted right into the top. Another source says that they cheesecakes that were topped with "vulvic pears" that she'd ensure were anatomically correct. Either way, I'd like to enlist a bi+ baker to bring the tradition back. Thanks in advance!

According to Loraine's longtime friend, collaborator, and biconic OG, Lani Ka`ahamanu: "Loraine promoted Pussie Pie throughout the 90s. [A]fter removing the plastic wrap, she loved the ritual of carrying the exposed P***y Pie into the house, weaving through the party and placing the pie on the potluck buffet table."

Oh to be a guest at those potlucks!

Take advantage of this amazing opportunity to learn more about your history! May 2. THIS Saturday. Comment LORAINE for more info.

⚠️ Trigger warning ⚠️

The stats are clear: bi+ women are more likely to experience IPV than their le***an or heteros*xual peers.

But why? Well, double jeopardy aint' just a movie starring Ashely Judd. Bi+ women face stigma and discrimanation from two directions at once. First, from heteros*xual communities. Second, from the LGBTQIA+ community. Combine the two and this feeling of helplessness, hopelessness, and lack of community are a recipe for disaster.

Supporting bi+ events=more bi+ events

As much fun as it is to get dolled up, I ain't doing it for my health. I want to see you, gossip about your lives, eat snacks, and drink little drinks.

So, show up and support my work so I can support you đź’ś

Yes, I'm wearing my Super Stay Matte Lipstick by and yes it stayed on all night and yes it'd be real cool if they sponsored us so I can host more bi+ events!

Let's celebrate our history!

Loraine Hutchins was an American bis*xual and feminist author, activist, and s*x educator. She was also a baddie who didn't tolerate nonsense and believed deeply in both social justice and the next generation of activists.

On May 2, we're celebrating her life in person and online, and we really hope you attend. This is a special opportunity to meet other activists who've been on the scene for decades.

This one is for the sapphics!

On May 8, Bis*xual Killjoy and *xualresourcecenter are co-hosting a sapphic speed dating event at

Dating can feel like a lot. Apps are exhausting, small talk is undoubtedly worse, and somehow everyone is either seems too cool or is unavailable. So we’re trying to do something about it.

Join us for an evening designed to make meeting people feel a little more human and a lot less intimidating. We’ll start with low-pressure icebreakers to get everyone grounded (and to prove that, yes, everyone here is a person like you). Then we’ll move into structured speed dating, followed by an open social hour where you can keep the conversation going in a more relaxed setting.

Nervous? Baby, there’s no need. If you need help getting in the fray, Bis*xual Killjoy’s co-host, Bailey Merlin, will be there to help you be brave and talk to the sapphic of your dreams. She wants to be thanked in a wedding toast, a commitment ceremony, a house warming, Subaru co-signing, and/or a cat adoption, so she’d be happy to take you under her wing.

Light snacks and beverages provided (so you’ll have something to do with your hands).

Big thanks to .chi and .community for inspiring us to bring more bi+ affirming dating spaces into the world. They're very important and cool!
