A Minneapolis-based distributor gave potentially contaminated goods to shops across Minnesota, including several in the northwest Minneapolis suburbs. According to the Food and Drug Administration, Gold Star Distribution sold hundreds of goods that could be contaminated due to unsanitary storage conditions.

A Brooklyn Park man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly shot a man inside the Maple Grove Benihana restaurant. Deontae Coney, 31, has been charged with second-degree assault. Police claim that Coney shot the victim in the groin after an argument.

A rest stop in Robbinsdale known for its historic "beehive" fireplace has been added to the National Register of Historic Places, according to Minnesota Department of Transportation and city officials. The Graeser Park roadside parking area, located at 4400 Lakeland Ave. N. off Highway 100, underwent years of restoration after falling into disrepair.

Hennepin County recently finalized its 2025 budget. Commissioner Kevin Anderson recently joined Newsmakers to explain what drove the county’s 7.79 percent levy increase. "A big part of it was there was a lot of cost shifts happening over this last year from the federal and state governments on to local property taxpayers,” said Anderson.
