Liberia Deepens U.S. Relations as Ambassador Conteh Presents Credentials to President Trump
Washington, D.C. | Official Diplomatic Update

Liberia has reaffirmed its long-standing relationship with the United States as Dr. Al-Hassan Conteh, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Liberia, formally presented his credentials to President Donald J. Trump at the White House.

During the official ceremony, President Trump extended warm greetings and expressed optimism about expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade and investment. The U.S. leader described Liberia as a key partner in West Africa and welcomed Ambassador Conteh’s appointment as a bridge for deeper engagement between the two nations.

Ambassador Conteh, who brings to the role an impressive background in academia and international diplomacy, conveyed President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s message of partnership and renewal. He emphasized Liberia’s focus on strengthening ties through education, sustainable economic development, and cultural exchange.

“The bonds between Liberia and the United States are rooted in shared history and mutual respect. Our aim is to build on this legacy with bold, forward-looking cooperation that delivers tangible results for our people,” Ambassador Conteh said.
In a statement issued by the Liberian Embassy in Washington, D.C., the event was described as a moment of renewed commitment to shared priorities. The embassy highlighted Ambassador Conteh’s strategic focus on attracting U.S. investment, enhancing educational partnerships, and amplifying the voices of everyday Liberians in the broader diplomatic conversation.

In addition to meeting with President Trump, Ambassador Conteh engaged with members of the diplomatic corps and U.S. officials, outlining his agenda to promote Liberia’s interests on the global stage.

The credentialing ceremony not only marks a formal beginning to Ambassador Conteh’s tenure but also signals a strengthened resolve to make Liberia-U.S. relations more impactful, inclusive, and forward-looking.
