Protecting Workers. Protecting Communities. Holding Corporations Accountable.

Matt Moltari of Teamsters Local 804 joined Teamsters at Local 282 to stand in support of the Delivery Protection Act and help educate New Yorkers about why this legislation matters.

Amazon’s Delivery Service Provider model relies on third-party contractors to employ many of the drivers delivering packages throughout our neighborhoods. Matt’s message highlights the concern that this structure can distance large corporations from responsibility for the workers performing the work — impacting job security, wages, workplace protections, accountability, and even the safety of our streets.

For Teamster workers, this fight is about something bigger than one company or one industry. It is about ensuring that the people who keep our communities moving have a voice on the job, the ability to organize together, fair compensation, and the dignity and security every worker deserves.

It is also about our communities. When companies operate in our neighborhoods, they should be accountable to the workers, residents, and municipalities they serve.
Strong workers help build strong communities.

Educate your friends, family, neighbors, and fellow workers. Contact your New York City Council Member and learn more about the Delivery Protection Act.

When working people stand together, organize together, and advocate together, we can create safer workplaces, stronger communities, and a more accountable economy for everyone.

Solidarity with Teamsters Local 804, Local 282, Amazon workers, and Teamsters across New York fighting for dignity, fairness, and a stronger future for working families.

Teamsters Local 804 Lead Organizer Antonio Rosario called on workers, families, and community allies to come together in the fight for Amazon workers.

That call brought Teamsters, Amazon workers, and labor allies together at the Teamsters Local 282 Union Hall for a powerful rally focused on stronger worker protections, safer streets, and good union jobs.

But the fight doesn’t stop there.

In our recent ULA Network conversation with Alex Jacoby, Director of the IUBAC Member Assistance Program, we discussed what MAP is, who it supports, and why union members and their families should never feel they have to wait until a situation becomes overwhelming before reaching out.

For nearly 30 years, the IUBAC Member Assistance Program has helped connect BAC members and their families with confidential support for mental health, substance use, stress, family concerns, and other challenges affecting quality of life.

Alex’s message to members is important: if something is negatively impacting your quality of life, reach out. It does not have to feel “serious enough” to deserve a conversation.

Active and retired BAC members and their families can confidentially connect with a licensed MAP mental health professional:

The ULA Network is proud to help support, educate and promote resources that strengthen our union members, their families, and our entire union labor community.

It’s Not Weak to Speak. Reach out. Connect. Support one another.

Build a Career. Build with Pride. Build Your Future

Billy Hill, President of Local 7 Tile, Marble & Terrazzo of New York and New Jersey, shares an important message for anyone looking for a rewarding career and a pathway to a strong future.

Local 7 proudly represents skilled professionals throughout New York City’s five boroughs, Long Island, Westchester, Orange, Dutchess, Putnam, Ulster and Sullivan Counties, as well as New Jersey.

For those who enjoy working with their hands, the tile, marble and terrazzo industry offers the opportunity to learn a skilled craft, earn while you learn, build a family-sustaining career and take pride in work that can last for generations.

There is something special about stepping back at the end of a project and being able to say, “I built that.” College is not the only pathway to success. A union apprenticeship can provide hands-on training, competitive wages, strong benefits and valuable skills without following the traditional four-year college route.

If you are ready to work hard, learn a trade and build something you can be proud of, consider making Local 7 Tile, Marble & Terrazzo your college education.
Learn a Trade. Build a Career. Take Pride in Your Craft.

Following in his father's footsteps, Tarshan Singh found an opportunity that changed his career path.

With his father having spent more than 20 years in PCC, Tarshan decided to apply after struggling to break into the IT industry following college. What he found wasn't just a new career, it was a community built on teamwork, mentorship, and shared success.

As an apprentice, he's gained a new perspective on the skilled trades and discovered that many of the stereotypes surrounding construction simply don't reflect reality. For Tarshan, the best part has been working alongside people from different backgrounds and growing together as a team.

The ULA Network believes that every apprenticeship story has the power to inspire others. Tarshan's journey shows how taking a chance on the skilled trades can lead to a fulfilling career and a strong support network.

Shout out to Commander Ryan S. Graham for all his support. Check out this inspiring clip from last year’s ULA Network Vets4Vets BBQ Symposium, where Ryan, Commander of VFW Flanders Field Post 150 in Corona, Queens, shared an important message about preserving the places that have supported veterans for generations.

Many VFW posts throughout New York City have served as places of pride, fellowship, support, and hope for decades—some for more than a century. Today, many are in need of rebuilding, retrofitting, and revitalization.

Through the ULA Network Vets4Vets Community Construction Project, we are bringing together union veterans, skilled trades members, apprentices, and community partners to help restore these important spaces and continue organized labor’s proud tradition of supporting those who served.

Together, we can rebuild more than buildings—we can strengthen community, connection, and hope for generations to come.
