The Oceanographic Museum of Monaco is built right into a cliff above the Mediterranean Sea, and it took eleven years to construct!

Founded over 110 years ago by the seafaring Prince Albert I, it's home to some of the oldest aquariums in the world and a marine care center where injured sea turtles are nursed back to health and released back into the ocean.

What makes this recognition especially meaningful is that the Crystal Kite Awards are peer-voted, chosen by fellow members of the children's book community. This one is so well deserved!
