Now I try not to force myself to do anything. I spend time alone with myself and my thoughts. It seems that my life has stopped in one moment. I almost do not draw, because creativity requires energy and I am now in energy saving mode. 💤

I am not going through the easiest time right now. I returned to my hometown to my family. At such times, the support of relatives and especially mom is the most valuable. Mom’s love is boundless. No matter how old you are, for her you are always a baby.

And interesting facts about me:
🍬 I spent my childhood in a cute house in a small town in Russia
🍬 We always had cats. At one time, 12 cats lived with us at the same time.
🍬 As a child, I kept a handwritten journal «City of Cats» in which I wrote stories about all the purring cats I knew.
🍬 I started illustrating books after 28, so it’s never too late.
🍬 My favorite drink is black coffee.

Lately I’ve been experiencing what many call a «creative crisis». I like my work and I put my soul into every book I’ve made, but... I don’t like my drawing style. It’s become too heavy, too «plastic». 🪣 I’ve always liked natural materials - watercolor, pastel, gouache. I tried to imitate them, but in the pursuit of speed I gave up every time. This tormented me for quite a long time. I think it’s time to take a break and try to bring back the joy of creativity 🌸 .
