is back!

TUNE IN TOMORROW at 7am EST to  99.5FM. I’ll be joined by my brother  who is going to tell you about what’s going on between New York & Texas in the fight for immigrants. It’s pretty enraging and not many folks are talking about it. Murad will break it down and let us know what we can do to help.

You can also listen live online at wbai.org from where ever you are.

CAT RADIO CAFÉ: THREE ROOMS PRESS: “MAINTENANT #16: THE JOURNAL OF CONTEMPORARY DADA WRITING AND ART”

On tonight’s show we’ll be joined by Peter Carlaftes and Kat Georges, the founders and publishers of Three Rooms Press, to celebrate the publication of Maintenant #16: The Journal of Contemporary Dada Writing and Art, whose theme this year is “NYET ZERO,” and whose stated aim – both ecological and anti-war -- is “to lay the groundwork for an artistic power grab using Dada in the form of art, poetry and writing aimed at exposing the hypocrisy of the engine-idle rich on recycled paper.” Maintenant #16 includes work by artists, poets and writers from all seven continents on the planet with more than 240 contributors from 34 countries. The Seattle Book Review has described the new issue as “A smorgasbord for those who are sick and tired of it all.”

Hosted by Janet Coleman and David Dozer

HOW WE CAN FIGHT BACK AGAINST THE ASCENDANT RIGHT WING

Writer Freddie DeBoer, organizer Afeni, former lawyer current writer Molly Shah and Plan C Pills co-founder Amy Merrill discuss how the hell we can fight back against the Ascendant Right Wing, its Supreme Court and the Democrats who refuse to do anything about them.
Freddie deBoer is a writer and academic and the author of The Cult of Smart. His writing has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Harper’s Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, The New Republic, Politico. Find his work at https://freddiedeboer.substack.com/
Afeni (https://twitter.com/ReddIsAri) is a Black q***r activist and core organizer with Freedom Fighters DC. During the George Floyd Uprisings Afeni saw first-hand how abusive the police are towards human rights protesters. Her advocacy and voice is lended to all marginalized people from our Palestinian cousins to protesters being brutalized in Nigeria, Afeni's voice knows no border. Afeni is passionate about equity, anti-racism and transformative mutual aid.
Molly Shah (https://twitter.com/MollyOShah) is a contributing writer to The Real News and social media consultant based in Berlin. Prior to moving to Germany Molly was an activist, teacher and lawyer in Louisville, Kentucky.
Amy Merrill is an artist and activist, and cofounder and digital director of abortion pill access campaign Plan C at plancpills.org (https://www.plancpills.org/). She also leads a web design and communications studio Eyes Open at eyesopendesign.com. Amy has a background in nonprofit management and social impact startups, choosing complex issues like voluntourism, human trafficking and gender inequality - which ultimately led her to focus on reproductive health equity and self-determination, and to cofounding Plan C.

NOREEN FARRELL
Noreen has devoted her legal career to the pursuit of social justice. She is a nationally recognized leader on gender justice and the architect of several high impact collaborative campaigns improving the lives of millions of women and families. She chairs the Equal Pay Today! Campaign, a national campaign led by Equal Rights Advocates A and 25 other organizational partners closing the gender and race wage gap in states across the country. Noreen also leads national impact litigation efforts to address gender discrimination in schools, sexual harassment, workplace leave and accommodation, and the protection of caregivers from discrimination at work.

THE NY ASSEMBLY TACKLES HEALTH, CLIMATE, GUNS and TENANTS RIGHTS

ASSEMBLY MEMBER KHALEEL ANDERSON
At age 24, Khaleel, from Queens, was elected as the youngest member of the state Legislature in 20 years, and the youngest African American member of the body in history.
