The London Movie Awards are an international film festival that celebrates independent filmmakers with live screenings in London at the . Thank You very much to the festival’s jury for this award, and Thank You to my team: screenwriter/producer Laila Locklear, lead actor/producer Husani Blaze (), lead actress Daphne Juliet (), cinematographers Reginald Thomas (), John Mattiuzzi (), and Thomas Jaeger (), co-producer Victor Torch (), and our script supervisors (including my talented sister .be.kmt).

My short film project LIL’ FAYE’S FIRST FINALE has officially been included to participate in the Sofia Coppola Short Film Award. Coppola (“The Virgin Suicides”, “Lost In Translation”, “Priscilla”) has partnered with Decentralized Pictures (DCP) to participate in this collaborative effort to recognize emerging independent filmmakers.
The winner of this grant award will receive $20,000 to go towards producing their short film, along with mentoring support and distribution of the completed film through Decentralized Pictures.
The competition submissions will be reviewed through their community-driven platform, where peer evaluators will vote to help shortlist the finalists. When you have a moment, PLEASE share our film’s page on the DCP website with your peers and colleagues (LINK IN BIO). The more eyes we get on the project, the better.

Our short film SWALLOWED has won the Best Sci-Fi Award at the New York Movie Awards ()! Thank You very much to the festival’s jury members for selecting our film for this prestigious award, and a special shout out to my amazing team - screenwriter Laila Locklear, actors Husani Blaze () and Daphne Juliet (), cinematographers Reginald Thomas (), John Mattiuzzi () and Thomas Jaeger (), production assistant Victor Torch, my incredibly talented sister Kimberly M. Thomas (.be.kmt) and her fellow script supervisors Naomi Polazzo and Melissa Ahmed. This is a tremendous honor, and we are all grateful for this special recognition.

Hey Everyone…myself and my production team will be filming on set SATURDAY, FEB 7TH from 12 NOON - 3 PM EST, and we will need extras to fill out the space of the venue we’re using. You will not need to memorize or recite any dialogue, just simply react to the performance of the two actors we are filming. This year I was asked to join both the Big Apple Film Festival () and the Women In Animation Film Festival () as a jury member. I got to experience some incredible films by brilliant filmmakers from around the world, and I learned so much from their art, their craft, and their storytelling.

Had a great time screening FORECAST at the Workers Unite Festival. It was a privilege to be in the presence of such incredible filmmakers and their powerful, resonant stories. Thank You again to Andrew Tilson and the team at for championing all my films over the years, and a very special Thank You to everyone who came out last night to support. Looking forward to the second screening on Tues, Oct 21st! 📸

My documentary film FORECAST is scheduled to screen at this year’s Workers Unite Film Festival as part of Program 2 at 9:15pm on Friday, October 17th, Opening Night at Cinema Village theater (22 E 12th St). It will also be screening as part of Program 14 at 9:15pm on Tuesday, October 21st (opening for a feature length documentary about legendary Black Panther, activist, and mother of Tupac Shakur, Afeni Shakur).
