this upcoming weekend is a special one as I have been invited to play on this gorgeous lineup curated by the folks at + . for enjoyers of disco, house, and the spectrum of upful dance music, this one will activate at .nyc with the daytime portion happening in the outdoor space ( on the system not to be missed) and the night time session indoors with . as someone whose musical palette has been deeply influenced by chicago’s underground house music scene and GU’s work in particular, it’s an honor and pleasure to be invited to play on this one. many thanks and much love to and the crew :)

peace family + happy friday ⋆˙⟡♡ after a two week hiatus I’m feeling replenished and ready to pump tonight for what promises to be a magical time at . it’s a locals night and the material is right baby! i play 2-4am in studio but both rooms will be fab open to close. this party is aligned with ’s boycott initiative to provide alternative options to the boiler room event happening at under the K bridge this weekend. come dance and treat yourself for a good cause. see you there ⋆˙⟡♡

Portraits from Love From The Sun’s Juneteenth celebration are live on the page. Not only were we able to cover all expenses and pay our community members, we also raised a collective $6,010.68 for and ’s Shut Rikers Campaign. Many thanks to all contributors and to for matching. Peace family. Today is the day . We are raising funds for and ’s Shut Rikers Campaign. I will be playing spiritual jazz, spoken word and black empowerment anthems on the big system outside from 1-2 PM. We have leading a house workshop inside from 2-3:30pm. + going back to back outdoors from 2-4pm. Record fair with of , of , and of selling records inside from 4-8pm. The ladies of .nyc, + .world play in the backyard from 4-6pm, followed by from 6-8pm. .instructions will be running their book swap inside all day, as well as , , .bakeshop and vending goodies in the backyard. will be taking portraits from 4-8pm. closes the whole thing out from 8-9pm with a sunset set for the ages. has you sorted with delicious food until sell out. Tickets are still available at the link in bio and we have several donated tickets available if you have financial limitations but still want to get down. Also accepting donations @/lovefromthesun on Venmo. It’s really a pick your adventure type of day and I’m so proud of and grateful for how it’s come together and all the folks involved on every level. presents at | Detroit, Michigan | Monday, May 26, 2025 | The last hoorah of Movement weekend 2025 was my closing b2b with in the garden at Tangent Gallery. I don’t take it lightly that I’ve been repeatedly asked to go back to back with a veteran and true icon of the Detroit underground, who has become my beloved friend. Mike and I challenge each other. We both take the craft and our love of this music thing very seriously. The Virgo perfectionism keeps me tight while I encourage playfulness. It’s truly a gift that I don’t for granted. We were both so exhausted and the delirium produced a profoundly freaky and weird result that the people seemed to enjoy. Major love to without whom none of this would be possible. We love you! Thank you + for the beautiful set that kept everyone locked in until we hopped on. And thank you to all the friends, peers and freaks who danced with us until 6am Tuesday morning to cap off a perfect whirlwind weekend. And that’s a wrap! Much gratitude for indulging my passion for film photography. Prepare to be sick of me (as long as I can afford the good film). Toodles 💋

.nyc at | Detroit, Michigan | Monday, May 26, 2025 | A daytime function at Spot Lite is always a treat. I was happy to be included in this lineup of homies from near and far curated by for the Detroit edition of his party .nyc. Lots of friends pulled up to share in the occasion. I opened the indoor space, before Toribio, and then , while , , + held it down outside. I finally got a chance to peruse the record shop at Spot Lite and cop some releases, too. Grateful for and the whole Spot Lite team for all the intention they put into the space; one of the best in Detroit. All in all it was a perfect last day of Memorial Day weekend.

Excursions at Andy Arts | Excursions at | Detroit, Michigan | Sunday, May 25, 2025 + Monday, May 26, 2025 | Excursions, the Chicago institution ran by .cordell and .vincent.33 blessed Detroit with two activations during festival weekend this year. The first at Andy Arts on Sunday night with guest DJs , + and the second on Monday evening at with + . What I love about Excursions, it’s a musical haven dedicated to the dancers. Folks just getting down! Of course Chicago was heavily in the building. On Monday evening after .nyc wrapped at , a bunch of us migrated to to see cap off the weekend and she played the perfect closing set with absolute finesse. I literally couldn’t leave until the music stopped, the pocket was tight y’all. It’s a blessing to experience the magic of + dance / commune with friends and peers from other cities. Thank you Excursions for the space. ❤️

Memoryal Sunday Block Party | Detroit, Michigan | Sunday, May 25, 2025 | Another highlight of the weekend for me. I was grateful to have caught the block party in all its glory after the extreme inclement weather during the first iteration last year. collaboration on this free all ages event on Oakland Avenue in Detroit gave us everything we needed: sun, beautiful music (some of the best of the weekend), community, and good times to carry us through the last moments of the hectic weekend. Special shoutout to Karl who is not only constantly improving / upgrading his system + the operation, but also transports it cross country to Detroit each year to make activations like this possible. I’m proud of this grassroots project and its expansion. Onward and upward good people. 🙏🏽

’s Wall of Sound at Bert’s Entertainment Complex | presents Three Chairs at New Lab | Detroit, Michigan | Sunday, May 25, 2025 | In the wee hours of Sunday morning, after Deep Detroit, I headed to Bert’s Entertainment Complex for the last stop of the night, DVS1’s renowned Wall of Sound party where my friend played from 10pm to 10am, a major feat that can only be done well by an artist of his caliber of brilliance. It’s always a treat to see him traverse genres, tempos and energy levels while keeping his authentic essence consistent throughout. I’m grateful that DVS1 recognizes the singularity of his artistry and that he gave Duke the space to display it for the freaks and heads of movement weekend for the second year in a row. After a bit of rest, I scooped my Shayla and we headed to the final Three Chairs performance at New Lab. It was a treat to witness , , + in different combinations, playing music they all know and love, and experiencing childlike wonder as only the oldest of friends do. The depth of musical knowledge and tight grip held on the room for ten straight hours was nothing short of inspirational. Was a treat to see their peers, the OGs giving them due love and respect too. We had a time. 💯
