Panasonic/Lumix has really come on strong with their hybrid cameras. They now have ARRI color in their cameras. We saw their new line of mirrorless cameras at BILD- the S1 Mark II, The S1R Mark II, and the S1 Mark II E all look really impressive.

We reviewed the S5 Mark II X earlier this year, and I was really surprised by that camera. I was impressed by the features- the auto focus, the image stabilization and the color science. You can check out that review on the channel.

This year Canon hit hard and came back with a vengeance with the Canon C50. This feels like they’re really coming after Sony and trying to one up cameras like the FX3.

The C50 offers 7K open gate shooting up to 30fps. I don’t know who needs that, but it’s really impressive for a camera with such a small form factor. They’ve also got the C80 and the C400 which they previewed for us at BILD this year.

Canon has always stood out because of the ease of use of their cameras and the amazing color science and the autofocus. We’ve reviewed a number of Canon cameras this year. We hope to get some more to review in 2026.
