In chess when a pawn makes it to the 8th rank of the opposite side it gains its freedom becomes autonomous of its original purpose, and becomes the strongest/mobile piece on the board. After having traversed all the hardships it is rewarded with the power to answer to no one. The reason for the 8 represents infinity in that this kind of journey is cyclical in pain and reward. The snake through out history eating itself represents death and rebirth, alchemy throughout the ages. I started this record label in response to my experiences in the independent Hip Hop scene in and around the New York area. The best way to get heard is for me to do it myself, and express my creative vision for Hip Hop music without any labels controlling or telling me how and what my music should look and sound like. This label practices a grassroots approach to promoting and marketing hip hop music.
