Coyote, the new album of ambient experimental guitar music from Exploding Skull (Peter Joseph of OOF, ex-Rathaus and Pelvi$$), will be released June 6, 2025 on CD/Digital through Bad Channels Records. Inspired by LaMonte Young, Sunn O))), and Zia Mohiuddin Dagar, Coyote gathers 9 tracks of meditative, distorted, split-signal solo guitar improvisations. Fusing spiritual and musical practice, Coyote's trance-like patterns and rhythms are based on Zen texts and draw from breathwork techniques. The album's title refers to Peter Coyote, audiobook narrator of Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind, while song titles reference authors and translators of Buddhist texts that influenced Joseph.
