How times have changed ~
Recorded on September 1 and 2, 1970, the session for "A Baker’s Dozen" took place in a Reidsville, NC motel room during Carlton Haney’s Sixth Annual Labor Day Blue Grass Festival. Kenny recruited me to play on this album with Sam Bush, John Kaparakis & Ebo Walker. The two-day session was cut live, with little or no overdubbing. We pulled the mattresses off the beds and put them up against the doors to block the outside noise and soundproof the room. We ran cables back to the soundboard, which was set up in the adjoining room. Kenny also recorded his "Dry & Dusty" album the same way, up in Bean Blossom.
