Stephanie King teaches students across multiple generations, makes home visits, and acts as a glue to her community. We need to support educators like her across the country who, day in and day out, work for the betterment of our society.

Have a look at the short doc we produced about Stephanie King for The NEA Foundation for the 2025 Horace Mann Awards:

Dr. Melyssa Ferro, a 2026 Horace Mann Award nominee, is helping shape the next generation of scientists. By grounding her students in facts, she is preparing tomorrow’s leaders to make the big decisions society will face. As the world confronts the growing challenges of climate change, this work feels more important than ever.

It was a pleasure filming with Dr. Ferro in Caldwell, Idaho.

Please like and comment to share your thoughts on Dr. Ferro’s story.

JoMeka Gray is one of the NEA Foundation’s top five finalists for the Horace Mann Award for Teaching Excellence; and she is a powerhouse advocate for public education in Texas.
Beyond the classroom, JoMeka works with state legislators to keep education a top priority. Inside the classroom, she’s teaching empathy and compassion; and helping her elementary students see bigger possibilities for their lives.

We had the privilege of producing this short documentary about JoMeka for the awards.

Need a midweek boost? Watch here:

After you watch, We’d love to hear from you:

What part of JoMeka’s story stood out most; and why does championing education matter to you?

If you know someone who could use this today, share it and drop a comment.

Pete Stone, runner-up for the NEA Foundation’s 2026 Horace Mann Award and a Travelers Award recipient, is a real inspiration. He teaches his students to express themselves, and he chooses to teach in challenging conditions because of his deep love for his community. This video feels like poetry in motion.

Take a look at the short documentary we produced for the 2026 Gala. Let us know in the comments if his story inspires you.

We are proud to share the work we did for the NEA Foundation Gala. We produced five short-form documentaries that highlight the stories of some truly remarkable educators and changemakers.

In a world where so much news feels negative, there are powerful and inspiring things happening in our schools every day.

These are the people who are shaping our collective future and reminding us what is possible.

Watch their stories and celebrate with us:
