For the second time this week, House of Nod have offered up a startlingly beautiful video, this time turning in a pitch-perfect effort for site favorites LVL UP.
"The Closing Door" keys in on nostalgia, the natural passage of time, what makes life worth living, and injects all three with a subtle splash of magic realism.
It's a tremendous clip for one of the year's best songs (this version's different enough from last year's 'Three Songs' version to count as a new song) and it can be watched after the jump.

HEART 9/11 was very productive in Manta Saturday and Sunday. The Rebuild Team - New York City Fire Department (FDNY) and Laborers Local 79 - New York City members - assembled 5 pre-fab homes and reinforced /cross braced 18 additional structures. The city of Manta has arranged for the army to provide HEART 9/11 a bus to take the 20 person team from the hotel to the Hogar de Cristo work site in Salinas de San Vicente which is 2 hours away this week. The work area was devastated by the earthquake. There are 15 homes to be built. There are 2 house designs - Bamboo houses with a floor made up of 50 wood boards, and all house elements are nailed. Wood Based Board houses with a floor made up 4 big boards house elements are screwed. Emergency homes are built on the exiting site - no foundation or soil compaction is needed.

"It is 8pm on a Tuesday night, and here a make-shift music writer sits behind their laptop typing up a post about the new Big Ups video for “National Parks,” the most recent single off of the NYC post-hardcore troupe’s forthcoming sophomore effort Before A Million Universes, after exhausting their brain behind a cubicle for the entirety of the day followed by tending to personal matters for the remainder of the evening. The writer has approximately one hour before he must usher himself off to arranging their life for the next work day in which they will do it all again. “Why would one put this unnecessary stress upon themselves?,” one with time to spare might wonder but you have to understand that for that one hour in their day, this is their outlet – A trivial means to instill some form of individual substance in their life so they can trudge through the tireless endeavors that take up the greater part of their day-to-day so they can put food on their table and pay the bills. It’s not a unique or interesting problem. In fact, it very much is the norm, but we as humans have a funny way of thinking that we are the only ones with the weight of the first world on our shoulders. Essentially, this is what director Robert Kolodny of the Brooklyn production team House of Nod conveys in the track’s video (just as singer Joe Galarraga lyrically intended) whilst turning it into performance art, as we watch a young, struggling professional dance her way through the mundane tasks that spread her energy far too thin. It’s in the videos final moments where she finds her own version of a typing up a blog post and where she finally breathes a sigh of relief. It’s an altogether powerfully serendipitous images that rest flush against Big Ups’ pedestrian chaos."
