SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT:
Ladies & Gentlemen, it has been brought to my attention by our listeners that one of our show Sponsors, Kev The Ripper, has had his Youtube page Terminated.
A Major reason why I started having him on board as a sponsor, is because he & I have something in common with an ever-increasing number of people out there--Those who grew up in the VHS/Beta Generation, Those who have an affinity for Televised obscurities; and perhaps more importantly, Those whose affinity for vintage media preservation goes beyond a simple hobby, and instead becomes a passion. I discovered one of our show subjects (Episode 105, 1998's "Virtual Ed Sullivan Show") through his page; and we were even able to make the subject of episode 14 ("California Girls") made widely available to the public for the first time in Decades w/o having to resort to the Dark Web to find it. After sifting through his page, I knew that he would become an ally in nostalgia...and I hope that alliance continues if he opens up another page.
Speaking as somebody who has been through this many years ago with various YT pages in the past; it's never a good thing to go through--especially when one's archive of obscurities was as vast as his page was. But as sure as YT pages are taken down all the time for various reasons, I know that the creator community is nothing if not resilient...It would not surprise me in the least if Kev makes a comeback at some point (and as long as he finds a way to post things again--even if it's under a different name--he is *always* welcome around here as one of our show sponsors).
In the meantime, if anybody out there can reach out to him in some way (I'm pretty sure he has a social media feed around here somewhere); show him a little love/appreciation/motivation, and let him know that his work over the years will not be in vain; and that we're all rooting for him.
Fight the good fight, Kev, we're all behind you.
