9/6/23: 7 YEARS IN NYC—and prob ~6.5 of them within the walls of (which *true story* inspired the idea for when Uber, not totally inaccurately, suggested that address for “home” 🤗).

Today also marks 1 YEAR SINCE THE BANDS DO BK BOOK HIT IRL AND INTERNET SHELVES, and it remains the coolest, hardest thing I’ve ever done—and, above all, the most rewarding, as it enabled me to further immerse myself in, and pay homage to, a city and a scene that mean more to me than anything else in the world.

Stoked to celebrate my pretty paper baby TONIGHT at with a lot of ridiculously talented people I love, including + + + ! Music starts at 9 pm and party lasts til I call a car back to Crown—

And, once again, all my love and gratitude to + every artist involved in this project for your time/support/art/energy/everything. I’m so happy and so, so sappy these days and it’s 100% thanks to you ❤️🎉

🔥 🔥 🔥 When it rains it pours, and sometimes that’s a good thing. In the next couple of months, I have 2 DIFFERENT podcasts launching! Right now, let me present to you, Well…Adjusting. This podcast is a comedic self-help chat show where I share lessons from my crappy childhood to help when creditors are calling, relationships are crumbling, and you’re stuck in that dead-end job. This pod is an edit audio original (woooo! What a team those folks are!) We’ve got a fantastic slate of episodes coming your way on 10/24.

The season one arc includes 12 episodes, with topics including:
* When it’s time to get a therapist
* Untangling complicated relationships with money
* Code-switching in the workplace
* Pondering whether grief subsides

And I’ve tapped all the experts in my life for some killer advice too. We’re talking business moguls, spiritual leaders, and my own therapist chiming in with words of wisdom.

I can’t wait to share this with you all. Trailer coming soon. Til then, here’s some fancy art for the show! 🔥 🔥 🔥

Our Story

Lit Riot Press is an independent book publisher based in Brooklyn, NY. We publish great nonfiction books connecting authors to a diverse and global community of readers. We publish books from authors establishing their work in the marketplace and also give voice to those who are new to the world of book publishing. We place an emphasis on early stage development and publication of nonfiction works that are informative, smart, and engaging.

We have great books on 2020-2022 publishing roadmap, a diverse catalog of nonfiction books covering topics under the humanities. These Works include nonfiction books, short nonfiction books, memoirs, and podcast+ books.

We are an experienced book publisher with two active independent presses (Lit Riot Press & Garn Press) and we support authors throughout the manuscript process from proposal, to draft, to publication. We pitch book projects, develop book proposals, provide editorial development and guidance, offer regular ongoing editorial support as the manuscript develops, and all phases of editing once the author’s manuscript is complete. Start to finish authors receive a lot of support at Lit Riot Press.

We connect our publications to a diverse and global community of readers through one of the industry’s largest global book distribution networks including online stores, independent bookstores, big chains, little chains, local niche retailers, libraries and universities and just about anyone, anywhere in the world who sells books.
