There are two languages that I speak EXTREMELY well. And that’s FASHION and MOTHERHOOD. captured and I speaking this language universally! My goodness, we had just met a few minutes ago and managed to connect on so much in such a short amount of time that we became inseparable during the event 🤣🤣🤦🏾‍♀️ We even got in trouble for talking while was trying to give her speech 😭🤣 (She’s a schoolteacher so I was definitely in the hot seat 🫢) But these are the moments I live for. The opportunity to connect. The opportunity to explore beyond “What do you do?” Thank you for your conversation Simone, my new found sister. ❤️

An extremely rare capture of a mother taking her daughter to the bathroom at a music festival 🫣

captured me doing something that I rarely get to see from the outside looking in. And that’s me, just being a mom. There are plenty of times I’m down on my knees tying shoes wearing platforms and sequins. Or a moment like this where I’m forced to step into a portable potty wearing a LONG, WHITE gown because Zoey drank a thousand lemonades and insisted she’d had an accident if we didn’t go right away. 😮‍💨😩

As gross as I felt this was lol, seeing it from the outside made me feel inspired. For two reasons. 1. I’m fully committed to being myself while I’m caring for my children. When I first became a mother, I wasn’t even sure I’d be able to keep myself in tact. But to see me mothering, through someone else’s eyes made me realize that I have. 2. I really can understand why my children view me the way they do. I’m a person they feel safe with, which is a really big job. To them I’m a as gentle as a fairy and as big as the jolly green giant.

I spent my morning running errands in the garment district because I’m gearing up for an extremely busy work week. The hat sales have been phenomenal 😮‍💨 My God I thank y’all for that! 🙏🏾 I’m constantly innovating and dreaming up new styles to wow yall and y’all are just eating them upppppp!!! And for that I am so grateful.

But I also wanted to just add, because this was on my heart to share. Just know when y’all see me shinin, it’s because of the grind. And it took me years and years to get here. I am in no way talking about material things either. I’m talking about that light y’all say yall see when you look at me. This was the biggest grind. Taking the time out to really work to figure out who I am and who I truly wanted to be as a person. And as a role model for my children. And for the world. 🌎 ❤️
