We are happy to announce that Series X of Lost & Found: The CUNY Poetics Document Initiative will comprise four books featuring the literary, visual, and cultural work of Lois Elaine Griffith, one of the last surviving founders of the Nuyorican Poets Café and a dear friend of Granary Books. Titles in the series Include “Dedications,” “All My Scattered Pieces,” Keeper of the Archive,” and a trade edition of “You See What You See,” co-published by Lost & Found and Granary Books.

A launch celebration will take place on May 21 from 6pm–8pm at the Martin E. Segal Theatre at the CUNY Graduate Center. Join Griffith, Joseph Cáceres (.writes_), Lost & Found Series Editor and archival collaborator, and friends for an evening of readings, presentations and conversation. Ammiel Alcalay, General Editor of Lost & Found, will introduce the event. All four books will be available for purchase.

Granary Books is pleased to announce a new limited-edition artists' book, Ghost Coast, by the artist and the poet , along with an event on April 29 celebrating the publication, co-sponsored with our friends and .

Ghost Coast is an experimental verbal and visual remembrance of the coastline of Manhattan, reconfigured by Hurricane Sandy, with a poem comprised entirely of verbs by E.J. McAdams threaded across a multi-panel 45 in. artwork by Julie Harrison.

Ghost Coast was printed by Jason Walz at and bound by and at DeMerritt Studios. The text is set in Ryman Eco, an ink-saving typeface. The layout of the poem was designed by Julie Harrison; Kevin Noble photographed Harrison's drawings; and Jason Walz designed the translucent endpapers. managed the book's design and production, which was assessed for sustainability. A portion of the proceeds have been donated to the Lower East Side Ecology Center.

We will celebrate Ghost Coast on April 29 at the Brooklyn Public Library’s Library for Arts and Culture at 7pm, with short talks by McAdams, Harrison, and Kinniburgh. RSVP is strongly encouraged.

New work by Philip Gallo, the poet and printer behind The Hermetic Press and a longtime Granary friend and collaborator, is a welcome distraction during this snowy February.

"Opuscules: A Mindfulness of Type" (The Hermetic Press, 2025) explores and showcases type used by Gallo across 50 years of printing as The Hermetic Press.

In addition to an introductory bibliography of Gallo's book works (1975–2019) printed in the shape of a tree, the book is divided into two parts, "Plagiarizing Myself" and "Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc and Other Fallacies." Within each, Gallo reproduces poems that the colophon describes as having been previously "printed on 5 x 7-inch cards and sent to friends of the press. The Printer, however, being of a dilatory nature, sent out so few he feels it not unwarranted to call them new...and to include them in this new book."

We were saddened to hear about Ed Foster’s passing on January 12th (1942–2026). Foster was a champion of the postwar avant-garde movement broadly known as “New American Poetry” as well as the specific voice of an American (and especially New England / Northeast) poetics. He studied extensively in Turkey, facilitating cross-cultural exchange between international and American poets from the 1970s onward; advocated for the representation of gay and q***r poets in the canon; and published some of the most influential experimental voices in poetry including William Bronk, Jack Spicer, Alice Notley, Ted Berrigan, Susan Howe, and countless others.

We are honored to represent the Ed Foster & Talisman Archive, specifically his poetry magazine, Talisman: A Journal of Contemporary Poetry and Poetics; and his press, Talisman House, Publishers.

May he rest in poetry!
