A buyer has expressed interest in buying Ballyā€™s rights to the $1.1B, multi-phase mixed-use development surrounding the Athleticsā€™ Las Vegas ballpark šŸ‘€

Phase 1 plans include a multilevel podium with parking on three levels and a plaza with retail, entertainment and dining options, as well as the main entrance to the ballpark.

Phase 1 is expected to open in 2028 along with the Aā€™s ballpark.

How important is unique merchandise to women's sports fans?

ā€œRather than choosing between fashion and fandom, consumers increasingly expect both,ā€ said Keri Lenker, the WNBAā€™s associate vice president of global partnerships and media. ā€œWomen are looking for products that are designed with them in mind ā€” not simply adapted versions of existing products.ā€

In 2024, Sports Innovation Lab and Klarna estimated that women's sports merch could represent $4B in annual revenue, but supply was not meeting demand.

The tide is turning, though.

The Neyland Entertainment District will be built adjacent to the University of Tennesseeā€™s Neyland Stadium šŸš§

Arctos, RVX Ventures and Magellan Development have secured an undisclosed amount of construction financing for the development, which will feature roughly 100,000 square feet of entertainment space alongside a 24-story hotel and residences and a private membersā€™ club.

Construction began on this project last week.

The NFL lands Fanatics as its new official sportsbook sponsor, ending a months-long vacancy since FanDuel, DraftKings, and Caesars expired in March.

The deal includes in-game ad rights, Super Bowl/Draft hospitality, and online casino status in 4 states. Terms undisclosed.

The previous trio combined for nearly $1B across five seasons.

Jeanie Buss is pushing back on her family's reported plan to sell the Lakers stake to Bob Iger and Josh Kushner.

Her attorney says she "has not agreed to sell" and any vote doing so "would be and is void," citing a 2017 court order making her the controlling shareholder.

Her position: no sale can occur without her consent as co-trustee of the JAB Trust.

CEO Josh Dā€™Amaro says he is ā€œnot interestedā€ in spinning off ESPN, pointing to surging sports ratings and the strength of the companyā€™s sports rights portfolio.

Disney also plans to bring more sports to Disney+ to attract casual fans and create more ā€œstickinessā€ on the platform.
