✍️🇺🇸If you have kids into geography or aviation, Non Stop Flight might be a great fit for your family game nights. The game gave me strong flying-version-of-Ticket-to-Ride vibes, as your goal is to complete as many routes as possible across the map.

To claim a route, you’ll need to play combinations of cards matching the number of planes required. But unlike other route-building games, you also need to already have a presence in the cities you want to connect, adding a nice extra layer of planning.

At the end of your turn, you’ll roll a die that decides your fate: grab more cards, place tokens in new cities… or sometimes absolutely nothing. A little bit of luck keeps things unpredictable and fun, especially with kids.

The game is easy to learn, and the cards are impressively thick, surviving even the occasional frustration without bending. I do wish the player tokens had been little airplanes though, that would have been such a fun thematic touch.

Overall, it’s a family-friendly game that works really well with kids, while still giving parents enough to enjoy too.

✍️🇺🇸I think it’s safe to say everyone has played tic-tac-toe at least once. And probably more than once because the second a game ends, you immediately want a rematch. It’s fast, simple, and somehow always turns competitive.

But what if someone took that classic game and twisted it a little? Well… that’s exactly what happens in Bombastic .

You have 9 tiles face down in a familiar 3x3 grid. Some are Xs, some are circles… but one of them is a bomb.

On your turn, you can take a risk and flip 3 tiles in a row. Line up your symbol and you win instantly. But flip the bomb? Game over right away.

Or… you can play cards.

Wait, cards in tic-tac-toe?!

Yep. And that’s where the chaos begins. The cards let you secretly peek at tiles, rearrange them, shuffle the board, and completely mess with everyone’s plans. It takes something super simple and suddenly makes it sneaky and unpredictable.

My kids mostly love flipping tiles and hoping someone explodes immediately. Nothing like hearing “Mommy wins!!!” two seconds into the game. Meanwhile I like using the cards and trying to plan ahead… although the kids now carefully watch every move I make like tiny detectives.

We played one round the first time.

Then probably 15 more in a row.

And honestly, that’s what this game does best. It’s quick, funny, easy to teach, and impossible to stop after just one game. Plus the little carrying case makes it perfect to throw in a bag for restaurants, trips, waiting rooms, or anywhere you need a fast game.

✍️🇺🇸The Yellow House is a 2-player game where every match turns into a debate about what matters most in art. But don’t worry, you won’t need fancy words or huge art theories here, everything happens through the cards in your hand.

At the start of the game, each player gets 12 cards and secretly gives 2 to their opponent. Those 4 exchanged cards determine the starting value of the 4 categories: skill, passion, inspiration, and money, each represented by its own color. Matching tokens are then placed on the fabric scale to set the tone of the debate before the game even begins.

From there, players take turns playing cards, hoping to be the last one able to play during a round and claim the last card as their own. Collect 2 of the same or 3 different to win.

The clever part is that moving higher in certain categories comes at a cost, meaning you’ll need to “pay” more cards to keep pushing toward your goal. It creates a constant balancing act between the cards in your hand, the current value of each color, and trying to guess what your opponent might still be holding.

Only one of each type of card can be played in a debate, so it constantly shifts from one category to another and keeps both players adapting, resetting your strategy within the round. You can also use support cards to help “pay” for your opinion, but you are limited to a maximum of 3 support cards per round. It adds another smart layer to managing your hand and deciding when to push harder or hold back.

Once you feel comfortable with the base game, each color can also introduce a special action, adding another layer of strategy. I honestly like that flexibility a lot because it lets the game match your mood: you can keep things lighter and more relaxed, or turn it into a much more intense battle of minds.

The components are also beautiful and really fit the artistic universe of the game. Everything feels thoughtfully designed and helps immerse you in the theme.

So if you’re looking for a new 2-player game that mixes strategy, tension, and a unique theme, this is definitely one worth adding to your collection.

✍️🇫🇷Heureka is a 2-player game that will really put your brain to work. Your goal is to score the most points by controlling the most territory on a 6x6 grid of tiles.

On your turn, you’ll place one tile from your hand. The only rules? Stay within the 6x6 grid and make sure the corner colors match the surrounding tiles. Sounds easy and peaceful at first… but it quickly becomes much more of a puzzle than expected.

Once your tile is placed, you’ll add one of your tokens onto adjacent tiles. If the spot is empty, it becomes yours. If it belongs to your opponent, you take over the space and keep their token. And if it was already yours, you can stack a second token to secure that spot even more.

The real challenge comes from creating a square of 4 touching tiles. When you do, you place one of your tokens in the intersection and score a permanent point that can never be taken away. And honestly? Pulling that off is so much harder than it sounds.

Each tile also has a different score value, but I’ll be honest, I barely pay attention to those numbers because control shifts constantly throughout the game anyway.

What I really enjoy about Heureka is its puzzle-like feel. Taking over your opponent’s spaces never felt too mean because most of the time you’re simply trying to make your tile fit somewhere valid. The more crowded the board becomes, the harder placement gets. In all the games we’ve played so far, we’ve never even completely filled the grid.

✍️🇺🇸Magic Number is one of those party games that takes a super simple idea and makes it way more entertaining than expected. The concept is easy: answer random questions with a number and try to be the closest to win the card. Sounds familiar… but the way the game plays with its questions is what makes it stand out.

Some cards let you choose the year or topic you want to ask about, which makes the game feel highly replayable. I also really liked how adaptable it is depending on the group you play with. For example, some questions ask when a sport was invented, but you choose the sport based on the crowd around the table. It makes the game work with very different ages and interests.

Some questions actually require checking the answer online. Personally, I enjoy that because I’m always curious about random facts and it often leads to funny discussions around the table. But I also know some people use board games as a way to disconnect from devices, so that part might not work for everyone.

The goal is to collect a certain number of cards to win, but honestly, we sometimes kept playing just because we were having fun with the ridiculous guesses and unexpected facts.

Magic Number plays up to 10 players, which is always a big plus because there really aren’t that many party games made for larger groups. The box also comes packed with cards and so many open-ended topics that I can’t imagine memorizing them anytime soon.

✍️🇺🇸Liar’s Dice , let me tell you that of you love bluffing, reading people around the table, and pushing your luck, there’s a lot to like here.

The whole game revolves around rolling hidden dice, making bigger and bigger claims about what everyone rolled, and deciding when someone is lying. One wrong call and suddenly you lose a die, so every turn becomes this little battle of confidence, probability, and poker faces.

The Playte edition of this classic game is also really nice for what it is: compact, portable, easy to throw in a bag, and quick to teach. Games are fast, usually around 15 minutes, so it works well as a filler between heavier games or as a casual party-style experience

For me personally, I realized I’m just not the biggest fan of pure bluffing games.
I also think this is one of those games that depends heavily on the group. With the right players, I can totally imagine it becoming loud, chaotic, and hilarious.

Have you ever play Liar’s Dice?

✍️🇺🇸Scury Up is a 3 to 6 player game that was absolutely not what I was expecting. Let me explain… look at the cute cover, look at the adorable squirrels, and tell me you wouldn’t expect a peaceful little race to grab some nuts?? Well… not at all. 😅

In Scury Up, you pick your squirrel and, on each level of the tree, you’ll have to choose a row (a number) where you want to place your champion. The decision completely changes depending on what you want to collect, because every row has different rewards, scoring opportunities, and rankings. Maybe you want to collect more acorns than everyone else, but another row might give points per item collected…

And on top of that, you’ll need to decide if you want to risk sharing a row with someone else. Some rows only work if you’re alone, others allow exactly two squirrels, but if too many players choose the same spot… everyone busts! And somehow, even busting can still end up giving you points later? WHAT?! 😂

I told you, this is not the peaceful little woodland race I expected.

The components are such great quality too. Every piece feels well made and really adds to the experience.

You can openly discuss your choices, bluff, or stay mysterious. We actually played pretty quietly and it still worked perfectly, but there were definitely a lot of laughs and “HOW?!” moments around the table.

Honestly, despite the cute artwork, this one works surprisingly well with adults-only groups too.
So tell me after that review are you surprised by this game?
