Axel - Silver chondro+ bull 6/2023. puppy dog sweet, in your pocket. Loves to be brushed and pet, loves cubes and attention.

Tootsie - Red mid/mini size highland heifer, heavy heavy bred. 5/2022. sweet girl, friendly but keeps to herself. Loves cubes and occasional pet. Tootsie is heavy heavy bred to either silver chondro+ bull or to a yellow brindle chondro+ and polled bull.

Simone - Silver midsize highland heifer, bred for fall calf.1/2022. very sweet and friendly girl, loves to be brushed and pet, loves cubes. Simone is bred to either of the above as well.

Bristol - White midsize highland cow. Exposed but not confirmed. 1/2019. very sweet and an amazing mom. Likes to be brushed and loves cubes.

Tsunami is one of our excitements when we look at our herd. Most people probably see a brown cow with old school horns but we see years of blood sweat and tears and a flashy flashy girl.
GLR Tsuamni Zoom In Hails from the great Gilliand Ranch and has been bred to some of the great to produce some fantastic offspring.
This quarter tsunami was bred to our herd sire to bring us tip to tip and some flashy coloring. We loved the look of her calves when she was bred to a brindle bull so we are hoping to replicate the beauty.

Mamma bull calf - Mamma's bull calf said good bye to his mamma this quarter. He was weaned and we sold mamma. We were worried about him but he entered back into the herd beautifully and is leaning on Vera & Summer for some extra cuddles. As for his growth, he turned 6 months old this summer and has started to pack on some brindle coloring on his legs.

Longhorn are considered to be a docile and gentle breed of cattle. They can develop trust and form positive relationships with people through consistent, positive interactions and handling.
Early Socialization: Starting to interact with calves from a young age can be very beneficial for building trust and familiarizing them with human presence
How do you train a Texas Longhorn to Gentle Handling and Positive Reinforcement:
Approaching them calmly, avoiding sudden movements or loud noises, and speaking in a low, gentle voice can help them feel safe.

Respecting Their Space: Be mindful of their flight zone and avoid getting too close if they seem uneasy.

Consistency and Routine: Establishing a predictable schedule for feeding, handling, and interactions can contribute to a sense of security and trust in the animals.

Patience: Building trust takes time and patience, and each animal may progress at a different pace.
