Community turns out for Ben’s Friends

Hundreds of patrons turned out to an annual event called Ben’s Friends last Saturday at the Moose Lodge in Brownsville.
The event is held annually to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It is held in memory of Ben Butler, who passed away as just 42 after a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
The all-you-can eat Crawfish and Shrimp boil drew a large crowd with entertainment provided throughout the event.
Plans for the 2026 event are already underway.

Haywood's Caden Harris commits to Vanderbilt

On a live broadcast through 247Sports, Haywood junior Caden Harris made his commitment to Vanderbilt football.
Harris -- a defensive back/wide receiver -- committed to Vanderbilt over Georgia, Missouri, Notre Dame, and Auburn.
During his junior season, Harris had 30 total tackles, including one tackle for loss and one interception. He also averaged 30 yards per punt return with one touchdowns. On offense, he caught 37 passes for 782 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Harris ranks as 247Sports' No. 92 player nationally, the No. 11 cornerback in the nation and No. 4 player in Tennessee in the class of 2026.
