Decades after James Harry Reyos was convicted and sentenced to nearly 40 years in prison for a priest's death, the case, new evidence and suspects are all the focus of “Night in West Texas,” a documentary premiering this Sunday in Brownsville during the 32nd annual CineSol Film Festival.

Guard's appointment comes after Helen Ramirez's announcement that she's leaving the city of Brownsville.

She said of Guard, “I leave Brownsville knowing it is in excellent hands under Alan’s capable leadership."

You see them in perilous situations on the side of a road, rigging a vehicle to their tow trucks for transport and looking both ways as other cars and trucks speed by. In July, one incident in Cameron County turned deadly when a tow operator lost his life after being struck by an intoxicated driver.

Now, his family has been left to mourn his death, while other tow operators are calling for safer roads. Their concerns were shared recently during a meeting Wednesday. This is the outcome of that meeting.
