Good morning, Golden Isles!

The Glynn County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency is keeping an eye on the path of Hurricane Isaias. As of right now, models are showing the storm making landfall along the northern Gulf Coast and then heading inland at a westward angle.

The path is very favorable for our area, but we continue to monitor the situation so we can be aware of any local impacts we may see from the storm.

Though we do not anticipate any direct impact to our area from Isaias, now is a good time to remember that:

🌀A little preparation now can make a big difference if a tropical storm or hurricane threatens our area.

🌀Now is a good time to sign up for CodeRED emergency alerts, check your emergency plan, and make sure your household is prepared if a storm comes our way.

🌀Review your supplies, know where you would go if an evacuation is ordered, and plan for medications, pets, and anyone who may need assistance.

🌀Encourage family and neighbors to prepare as well and follow official Glynn County updates as forecasts develop.

The Kraken is at the Farmers Market at Marry Ross Park today till around 1:00. We are here to answer questions and talk about our on air opportunities for you. We are also raising money to get on the air. For a $50 or more donation you get a gift of either a Kraken tiki mug or a plushie Octopus. And we always have our great stickers to hand out.

The Kraken is saddened to share this post with our followers. Dolly Parton was one of a kind, and she will be missed, but her music lives on.

Dolly Parton, who rose from a loving if impoverished upbringing in the mountains of East Tennessee to become the “Queen of Country” music, a Hollywood star, and a beloved American icon, has died, her family announced.

Parton was 80.

Her death came after Parton suddenly announced in May 2026 that she was canceling a Las Vegas show and said she'd been undergoing treatment for kidney stones for several years.
