Community Foundation Announces More Than $1 Million Available in Scholarships



The online application is open through March 31.



FREDERICK, MD – March 3, 2025: The Community Foundation of Frederick County’s online scholarship application for the 2025-2026 academic year is open through March 31.



For the tenth consecutive year, more than $1 million in scholarship funds are available to students pursuing post-secondary education and career training. By completing one general application, students may qualify for more than 200 scholarships.



Last year, Community Foundation scholarships supported more than 350 students and totaled $1.9 million.



Students about to complete their senior year of high school; students already enrolled in a trade school, college or university, or graduate program; and nontraditional students over the age of 21, are eligible to apply. Funds support scholars with various levels of financial need, and a wide range of academic achievement. All students are encouraged to apply. Urban Forestry Careers Camp:

Explore your future career in the exciting and growing field of Urban Forestry. Come spend a week on Maryland's flagship campus in College Park and experience hands-on learning with industry professionals and experts in many forestry-related fields.

Be one of 40 high school students selected to spend a week at the University of Maryland with other like-minded students from across the state.

Students must be currently enrolled in high school at the Sophomore level or higher by September 2024. Newly graduated seniors are eligible as well.

The tuition is paid for by the Maryland Forestry Foundation, made possible by a grant from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources.

Experience an unforgettable journey into the world of natural resources with the Natural Resources Careers Camp! This week-long adventure, nestled in the scenic mountains of Garrett County, Maryland, is designed for high school students seeking to explore exciting career paths and college opportunities in the realm of natural resources.

Space is limited to 42 NRCC students, and must be currently enrolled in, going into, or recently graduated from high school.

In-state students may qualify for paid tuition, covering the $500 NRCC Tuition Fee, which includes lodging and meals for the entire week. The local Maryland Forestry Board typically sponsors this fee for in-state participants. Students are only responsible for a $150 Student Activity Fee.
