💥Wanna hear a funny (but VERY true) story?💥

I’m a professional organizer…
But guess what I don’t do?
👉 I don’t build things.
Not a cube shelf, not a shoe rack, not even a “quick 3-step assembly” whatever. NOPE.

You hand me a box of parts and an instruction manual?
I’m instantly sweating. Palms. Racing heart. Panic mode.
It’s like IKEA meets anxiety. 😅

One time—ONE TIME—in the last two years, I tried to build a shelf at a client’s house…
And it was the only time I’ve ever had to stop, excuse myself, drive home, breathe into a bag, watch a YouTube tutorial, and go back to finish the job. 💀

I will hang shelves, rearrange your furniture, and carry your mama’s grand piano up a flight of stairs if I have to…

But BUILD a cube storage unit?

Let me brag on Kim for a second—again.

I know I’ve talked about her before, but I really can’t say enough.
Kim is everything I am not: patient, cheerful, calm under pressure, and somehow always smiling even when I’m spinning in five directions.

I think I’ve heard her say maybe four cuss words in the entire time we’ve worked together—and honestly, each one made me proud. 😂

OCD Home Solutions would not run smoothly—or at all—without her.

🛑 STOP SCROLLING.
You know exactly what this is about. And so do I.
Because I lived it.

We buy. And buy. And buy some more.
Not because we need it… but because we’re avoiding something.

That new moisturizer? The hair mask? The 3-step serum system from that influencer’s bathroom shelf?
It wasn’t self-care.
It was distraction.
A way to feel like we were fixing something deeper.

Let’s be real — moving is STRESSFUL. But it doesn’t have to be chaotic and miserable. Here’s how to make it suck a little less:

✅ 1. PURGE FIRST.
If you don’t want it, don’t pack it.
If you don’t use it, don’t move it.
If you don’t love it, let it go.
You’ll pay to move every single thing — emotionally and financially. Start fresh with this next chapter. You don’t need that busted coffee maker from 2008. ✌️

🎨 2. Color-Code Everything.
Assign a color to each room and slap that color on every box for that space. Red = kitchen. Blue = bathroom. Green = kid’s room. BAM. Everyone helping can match colors to rooms and get to work without asking 100 questions.

🍽 3. Your Kitchen Will Betray You.
You think it’ll take an hour… but that drawer full of Tupperware lids says otherwise. Give yourself extra time for the kitchen. It’s the slowest packer in the house.

To the younger women out there…
This one’s from someone who learned it the hard way.

When I was younger, I turned heads everywhere I went.
I don’t say that to be self-serving—it’s just the truth. People told me I was pretty from the time I can remember hearing people talk. And my head soaked up every single word.

I asked my mom once if I was just pretty or uniquely pretty. 🤦🏻‍♀️
I wasn’t asking about my heart or my potential—I just wanted to know where I ranked visually. And that mindset? It stuck with me.

I was smart, but not dedicated.
Talented in sports, but not committed.
I didn’t build anything deep within myself… because honestly, I didn’t think I had to.
My looks got me out of things, into things, and through things.

But as I’ve gotten older—and yes, I notice—things shift.
The stares become less. The boys start calling you ma’am.
And if you haven’t built a relationship with yourself… that part can really sting.

Because when the outside changes, you better hope something solid is growing on the inside.

I’m still working on that part. Still building.
But this version of me—the one who’s grounded, bold, healing, evolving?
She’s so much better than the shiny version I used to chase.

So to the young women relying on the outside for confidence:
