Sharathon is on October 7th and 8th. You may be asking what is sharathon? It's a time we set aside to let you know about the financial needs of the radio station. We also share stories of how God is using WAY RADIO in peoples lives every day. For example Ashley shared that "WAY RADIO has impacted my family by bringing joy to every car ride. I turn on the radio, and Immediately my 5 year old starts singing to the songs at the top of her lungs. She always seems to know what the song is. Thank you for bringing that joy to us everyday." Sharathon is coming up on October 7th and 8th. I want to share a story with you that came to us from Lee. She said that "the music helps me focus on God throughout the day. The music restores me when I'm down, lifts me higher when I'm up, and helps me praise Him at all times. For over 23 years WAY RADIO has been on three radios in my house (bathroom, bedroom, kitchen), guiding me and providing emotional and spiritual assistance to me and to all who may be visiting."

From the beginning

90.7 WAY Radio went on the air in November of 1998. The original founder of WAY Radio in Jacksonville, Dan Richardson, had pursued buying an FM station in Brunswick, Georgia, but that never materialized back in the mid 1980's. In January of 1998 Dick Weer, General manager of WAY Radio, received a call about 90.7 in Brunswick being for sale. He talked to the board of directors which told him to pursue the frequency and the sale was made a couple of months later. 90.7 WAY Radio went on the air in November of 1998. God brought changes to WAY Radio in 2002 when Luke Stephens was hired as the new General Manager and the format of 90.7 WAY Radio was changed to a Contemporary Christian Format.
