'Thirsty for More' is the next in BEAST's Story Wrong sci-fi mash up series ⚡

18x18 congé print on custom-painted wood panel 👀

Congé prints are truly one-off pieces of art, similar in appearance to a screenprint. The custom-painted base layer and random imperfections of the congé print process are impossible to reproduce, making each piece an original.

When life gives you lemons.....

Been fine-tuning my print process over the last week and while these prints weren't working the way I wanted (as part of an 18x24 wood panel for the gallery) it occurred to me that they'd work great 'in the street' 👀✨

You may recognize the graphic as BEAST's popular dancing queen - text reads "but was she dancing for joy... or spinning out of control", a sentiment that seemed to resonate with many of y'all (not just me 🤣)

When doing unauthorized wild postings in the street we usually use homemade wheatpaste but since this piece was officially commissioned and will become part of the Texas A&M University Galleries collection we needed to use archival quality supplies.

This was the first time we’ve used matte medium for XL paste up (the wheat etc in wheat paste gets moldy and smelly over time) and it dried quicker and was less forgiving. But we got there in the end!

Pls excuse the yellow bungie - necessary to stop the 8x8ft canvas from flying off in the TX breeze!

Big day today - after 25yrs in the USA I'm finally a citizen! ✨ Plus I get to eat cake!

Big thx to my American family and the wonderful community of downtown Bryan, TX for your acceptance, support and friendship 😀

These are difficult times here in Trump's America but I'm fortunate to now be able to have a proper voice without fear of deportation.

PS: Don't worry Mum, I still have my UK passport! Forever 3 Lions on a shirt! Just with a weird accent! 🇬🇧 + 🇺🇲
