The 2026 Bassmaster Junior National Championship has officially come to an end, and Carsen & Grant finished 55th out of 115 of the best youth teams in the country with 5-fish weighing 10 lbs. 7 oz.
If there was one word to describe Day 2, it would be GRIND.
The number of 14½ and 14¾ inch bass the boys caught was almost unbelievable. It felt like every fish was just a fraction of an inch short of helping them. Even with that, they never got discouraged. They stayed positive, kept fishing hard, laughed through the tough stretches, and never gave up.
When you look back, it’s hard not to smile. Last year they finished in 77th and this year they improved all the way to 55th on a fishery they had never seen before. That’s something to be proud of.
The results are only part of the story, though.
This week was about an 18½-hour drive here, countless hours of preparation, over 40 hours on the water learning a brand-new lake, 18 hours of tournament time, adapting every day, overcoming adversity, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
This also marks the end of an era. With Grant moving up to the High School Division, this was the final Bassmaster Junior team tournament these two will fish together. What an incredible run they’ve had.
We’re beyond proud of both of these two, not just for how they fished, but for the way they represented themselves all week with great attitudes, sportsmanship, and determination.
Thank you to everyone who followed along, sent messages, and cheered them on from home. The support meant the world.
Now… it’s time to head home, keep learning, and get back to work for the rest of the 2026 season. The future is bright. 🎣💪🔥
