Nobody does this on houses anymore, we brought it back.
Shake gables. You see them on old beach houses, maybe a few homes from the 50s and 60s — but they're rare now.

The Smithfield Street renovation is picking up momentum. Outside, the cedar shake gables are going up — and Josh breaks down exactly why every layer of this exterior build is designed to last. Then we take a trip to the West Virginia Wildlife Center in French Creek, one of the oldest conservation sites in the state, and learn the unexpected story of how a game farm became a beloved piece of Appalachian history.
