The parable of scale

Building wealth pyramids.

A great Egyptian pharaoh summons his twin nephews Chuma and Azur, and commissions them to a majestic task: Build two monumental pyramids as a tribute to Egypt.

The reward?

Immediate kingship, retirement amidst riches, and lavish luxury for the rest of their natural lives.

Azur begins immediately. He slowly drags large heavy stones into a square formation. After a few months, the base of Azur’s pyramid takes shape.

The stones are heavy and difficult to move, and after a year of heavy labor, Azur’s perfect square foundation is nearly finished.

But Azur is perplexed. The plot of land that should bear Chuma’s pyramid is empty. Not one stone laid. No foundation. No dirt engravings. Nothing.

It’s barren as it was a year ago that the Pharaoh commissioned the job.

Confused, Azur visits chums homee and finds him in his barn diligently working on a twisted apparatus that resembles some kind of human torture device.

Azura interrupts, ‘Chuma! What the hell are you doing!?’

Chuma cracks a smile and says, ‘I’m building a pyramid, leave me alone’.

Azur scuffs, ‘Yeah sure you are. You haven’t laid a brick all year!’.
Chuma, engrossed but unfazed by his brother's accession retorts, ‘Azur, you’re short-sidedness and thirst for wealth have clouded your vision. You build your pyramid and I will build mine.’
Two years have passed.

Azur is on to his second level except a problem arises. Azur struggles in his progress. The stones are heavy and he cannot raise them to the pyramids' second level.

Recognizing his weakness: he needs more strength to move the heavier stones, and to do so he seeks the counsel of Bennu, Egypt's strongest man.

Azurs' pyramid construction slows to a disheartening crawl.
One stone placement takes one month.

Moving stones up the pyramid takes great strength so he spends much time training - spending most of his money on counseling fees and exotic diets.

At Azur’s current pace, his pyramid will be completed in another 30 years.

But he remains unfazed due to his brother's lack of work.
Until one day, a crowd swarms around Chuma’s plot of land amazed at the 25-foot machine he’s built.

Within minutes, Chuma’s strange machine starts moving heavy stone and begins to lay the foundation off the pyramid.

Within a week Chuma’s pyramids foundation is laid - 30x faster than Azur’s work.

Within 40 days, Chuma and his machine accomplished as much as Azur's 3 years of toilsome work.

After 8 years Chuma finished his pyramid: 3 years to build the system and five years to reap the benefits of the system.

Chuma is rewarded a lifetime of luxury.

And as for Azur, he continues to do the heavy lifting which enviably leads to his death. He never got to experience the befits of implementing a system.

Now, this is most people today with their e-commerce business.
