Happy, joyful, reflective 4th of July from Bailey, Sweetie, and me. This is my 74th Fourth of July. I am so grateful that when I was a child the public education system in Texas was great. It was so great that an adopted, half breed Peruvian/Scot Irish bastard born in 1952 could make it in America.

I started working when I was 14, and I’m still working. Now I’m working pro bono to help reclaim the power of the people in Hays County, Texas, and America. So on this 250th Fourth of July, please remember that every American citizen has a civic duty. That’s the only way America works. It takes all of us.

So please do whatever we can to make our cities, states, and country live up to the values that our forefathers established.

It’s 6:30 Sunday morning on this last day of May. I’m an old hobbit. So Sweetie and I have the same alarm clock. When I adopted Sweetie four weeks ago, her separation anxiety was the worst I have ever seen. She didn’t leave my side for the first two weeks. She is slowly getting better.

As you can see, Sweetie loves living at the Buda Treehouse & Dog Park. Sweetie is the 8th puppy I have raised since I was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1979. Four have been Labradors. Once she figures out I ain’t leaving her, she is going to be a great Labrador.

Stay tuned. Once her shots are finished. I will take her to heaven on earth for this hobbit and Labradors; the San Marcos River. That is going to be a fun video to watch.

I adopted Sweetie on the 18th of April this year. She had severe fear of abandonment and hardly left my side for two weeks. We have a ways to go, but I think she's going to be just fine at the Buda Treehouse, recording studio, media production company and dog park.

Sweetie hears the birds chirping, chickens, and dogs barking and is finally at peace.

I am so grateful for the 3.75 inches of rain over the last two days. My trees are singing, and everything is green.

I am grateful for the wonderfully cool temperature, and how clean the air is.

We are enjoying this incredible spring day. Hope you are too.

Warning: Sweetie Report.

She has not had accident in the house. At three months, she sits, comes, is not bitey, is house trained, and has such a gentle way about her.

Sweetie couldn't have come into my life at a better time. I think you can see from the photos that she is adjusting well.

After Champ died last fall, I wanted to adopt another dog to keep Bailey active. I have been putting that out to the universe. But I can’t adopt from animal rescues because I have an invisible pet fence. So my search was frustrating.

Yesterday, I was looking at Craig's list, and there was a 3 month old female full blood Labrador that needed to be re-homed. The post had been up for less than 24 hours, and Labradors are my favorite dogs. And she was in Buda!!! Talk about manifestation.

Sweetie is now a family member at the Buda Treehouse, and I am so grateful.
