If you’ve been following our race reports you know how competitive this season has been between Broc and Max. Last night’s event, round 1 of the AMA Natty, was another one of those challenging events that you have to witness. The move Max made in lap 3 of the Main Event was a testament to how competitive this Natty will be. And Jimmy Fishback? He’s the spoiler tht Chris Kerr has been over the past few seasons. The outside of the track that night was very deep. It caused so much trouble for the racers. The only good lane was close to the pole. As U.S.A. Speedway heads into Round 3 of the 2025 Speedway Racing Season, these are your points standings for races in Southern California.

Max Ruml continues to dominate the points standings to remain in 1st Place with 173 points over Broc Nicol Racing in 2nd Place with 168 points. Although Broc has more event wins, he’s finding it difficult to bridge the gap to pull ahead. Let’s see how he does going into the Round 3 of the season.

Slater Lightcap with 118 points sits in 3rd Place. Austin Novratil is in 4th Place with 87 points overall.

Justin Almon is in 5th Place with 68 points. Billy Janniro, who was a no show at Heroes and Legends night still sits in 6th Place with 60 points. Alex Martin improved his position to 7th Place with 59 points overall. Team Will Racing 117 Wilbur Hancock falls to 8th Place with 57 points.

Russell Green, now out with a knee injury slips down to 9th Place with 47 points overall. And finally still in the Top 10, Eddie Castro keeps the 10th Place spot with 43 points overall.

Lastly, with an impressive return for Jimmy Fishback’s return to the Speedway line up, he improved his position to 14th Place with 20 points overall. Not bad for the veteran who has been in only two events this season.

Those are your points. The next few matches at Industry Hills Speedway will be two rounds of the 2025 AMA National Speedway Championship. I will NOT be adding those points to this scorecard because they are specialized Championship events. I will as more points when there are regular events in the season.
