In honor of the Big Boy continuing its Coast to Coast tour. I thought I would show you all the Big Boy Spring Garden from my visit to the Rail Giants Museum at the LA County Fair earlier this month.

These springs were once used for the Big Boys to help center it. As shown in the second pic. As well as the perimeter of the garden being a tire that was once used on it as well. 🚂

Today marks the 157th Anniversary of the Transcontinental Railroad. To honor this special day today here is a pic of the replica of the Golden Spike on display at the California State Railroad Museum. The spike that was hammered in at Prometory Summit when the Central Pacfic and Union Pacific Railroads met up. 🚂🚂🚂
