What a peachy guy!
Longtime Western New York broadcaster Tom Darro, host of WEBR Radio’s Viewpoint, has been named Honorary Parade Marshal for the 2026 Niagara County Peach Festival Parade. The annual parade will step off Saturday, September 12 at 11 a.m., traveling along Center Street in the Village of Lewiston as part of one of Niagara County’s most popular and longest-running community celebrations.
Darro has been a familiar voice to Western New York radio listeners for many years, and Viewpoint has provided a forum for conversations about the people, organizations and issues important to the region. His selection as Honorary Parade Marshal recognizes his years of service to local broadcasting and his continuing commitment to keeping Western New Yorkers informed and connected to their communities. Darro was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2022.
The parade is one of the signature events of the Niagara County Peach Festival, presented by the Kiwanis Club of Lewiston. Thousands of spectators are expected to line Center Street for the Saturday morning tradition featuring marching bands, community organizations, floats and local dignitaries. Darro will have a place of honor in the procession as Lewiston and Niagara County salute a broadcaster who has spent much of his career giving a voice to the community he serves.
