The weather is starting to cool down and we find ourselves craving cozy meals- stews, soups, anything warm and hearty. The hubs requested a mushroom stroganoff this week, and that checks all the boxes! Warm creamy pasta stuffed with local mushrooms and savory sauce? Sign me up. The recipe is now live!

(Even the pup wanted in! Don't worry, the puppy guy was not fed any mushroom stroganoff, but he is very spoiled and did get extra snuggles and treats.)

Another busy bee week/end in the books- appointments and cleaning and cooking and crafting and supporting our local library and washing the dog and and..... 🐝.... Back to my kitchen groove today.

That burger was a boon to my tired bones this week. One friend raised the beef and grew the lettuce, another grew and made the pickles, and I grew the tomato and made the buns. Just... what cooking should be. This week's mission(s)- hug a loved one tight, and/or put on your comfiest sweater. Highly suggest both. 💚

That's TWO, count em'- 2 squares marked off my bingo board this week! This one covers "use pie spice in a new way". We love popcorn, especially for movie nights- and this sweet and salty blend was a nice change from our go-to recipe (which you can also find you-know-where!). It's a ridiculously easy way to sprinkle a little pizzazz into your popcorn.

If you've been following along, I posted the Autumn Kitchen Bingo for some fun cooking inspiration as we head into the fall. I LOVE a randomly rolled/mystery basket/chaos idea challenge so for my first square, I went with Pie Roulette! I whipped up a list of random crusts, fillings, and toppings and let a die decide my fate.

We had a busy weekend so unfortunately taking a haul picture slipped my mind, but we enjoyed our weekly excursions and love our farmers and artisans all the same! Huge shout out to Walnut Hill , thank you so much for the beautiful candle haul!! These are some of my favorite candles and I burn them nearly every day. They're an integral part of my work routine and creative process- whether I'm writing, developing recipes, cooking, designing, or some combination of all of the above. Try to catch her at a market or event (check out their website if you can't make it out) and support local farms and the bees! 🐝🕯💚

IYKYK Week 17- Between restocking the fridge and putting up some food for the winter, we got a HAUL this week.

Our beautiful lineup:

-romaine lettuce, sweet peppers, onions, eggs, & cilantro from Plato Dale Farm
-watermelon, zestar apples, and bartlett pears from
-zucchini, yellow squash, CORN (the big box in the back), and hot peppers from
-lion's mane & shiitake mushrooms from Flat #12 Mushrooms
-mild chicken Italian sausage and hot chicken Italian sausage from Hanzlian Sausage Inc. (not at our market this year, but local and they attend other markets)

Friendly reminder to ask your farmers about half bushel/bushel amounts of veggies to freeze or can (pressure or water bath canning depending on the food) yourself! It's the time of year for bushels of corn, apples, tomatoes, so on and so forth! I got an insane deal for 3 dozen ears of corn (which should last us the winter) and was able to support local farming in the meantime.

I'm not rushing summer out the door, but fall is on its way!! To add a little extra fun to the season, I decided to whip up a little seasonal bingo board.
