Unlike most fossil sites in the lower 48, Natural Trap Cave near Lovell preserves ancient DNA. Year-round, the cave is a near constant 48 degrees, cold, humid and dark. Bones don’t dry out; decay slows; genetic material survives.

Bayleigh Turner was seen yesterday 09/23/2025 at Transitions School. The last contact with her was 09/23/2025 at approximately 10 pm. She was last seen wearing light blue jeans, a white t-shirt, and a hooded sweatshirt. She also had her backpack with her. She is 16 years old, 5'02" tall, approximately 110 lbs, with dyed bleach blonde hair and blue eyes.
