Buffalo alternative metal band ARCANA has released a stellar new LP titled, ‘Absence,’ which signals a musical transition for the group. We spoke recently to band about the new album. Check out our story below.

The new album ‘Absence’ by Buffalo alternative metal band ARCANA is a fascinating and powerful work of art, fusing together vision with technical skill and raw emotion. Heavy, haunting and atmospheric, the nearly 40-minute LP both exudes passion and hits like an anvil. The album’s songs are no...

1120 Records news … upcoming vinyl release from Buffalo’s Mother Nature’s Son!

Attention friends, loved ones, and fans!

It is now, after what feels like a lifetime, that we are proud to share with you the culmination of our time and expression;

Our debut, full-length LP,
“The Seven People You Meet In Heaven” will be available on all streaming platforms on June 6, 2026, courtesy of 1120 Records.

In addition, it is amongst our wildest dreams come true that this will be accompanied by the release of the album on vinyl record, to be made available the day of our release show, later in June, which will be fully elaborated on in coming updates.

This is truly more than we, and I (Ant), could have ever hoped for, and we thank you…

We thank you all with every cell in our bodies, for your support, for your love, your inspiration.

Pre-Save link in bio, we’ll see you out there 🖤

Please see our story today on Justin Von Strasburg, who’s manned the drums over the years for a long list of Buffalo bands spanning a wide range of genres. He’s also released numerous solo electronic albums, and on Friday, he dropped his latest LP titled, ‘Perspective.’ We recently met with Justin for an in-depth conversation. Check out our interview.

(EDITOR’S NOTES — Justin Von Strasburg has been omnipresent on the Buffalo scene for years, playing drums in an array of bands which traipse across a plethora of musical styles from punk to indie to experimental to noise rock and everything in between. Widely known for his minimalist kits, Justi...

Check out our story today on the new album, ‘Nap,’ from Wylie Something. The LP release, which you can hear on the streams, is accompanied by a limited cassette run available now on Wylie Something’s Bandcamp page.

There’s always something comforting about a Wylie Something record.Dreamlike and sonically gallivanting, oftentimes to a daring extent, there is an eternal sense of wonderment and escape embedded within the music. And let’s be honest: who doesn’t need an escape right about now?Thankfully, as w...

Please see our story today on Autoignition’s forthcoming EP ‘Against the World.’ We spoke with the band’s Liam Ebers about the new record, Autoignition’s relentless touring and work ethic and the three-year journey behind finally making the new record a reality.

(EDITOR’S NOTE — We’ve opined here once before that the Buffalo band Autoignition seems incapable of writing a bad song. And the group’s latest single, ‘Not for Nothing,’ lends further credence to our stance. The new track, which you can listen to HERE, is the lead single from Autoigniti...

See our piece today on War Bond’s stellar debut LP, ‘An Act of Treason.’ The band will celebrate the album with a release show tonight at Area 54, with a loaded bill that includes Hold Out, Bile Study, Slam Dunk and Hostile Makeover.

If 20 years from now debate swirls in local hardcore circles over what LPs are among the best debut albums recorded by a Buffalo hardcore band, we wouldn’t be surprised at all if War Bond’s ‘An Act of Treason’ is among those mentioned.It’s just that fu***ng good.From the very start of the ...
