Congrats, Rivy! We’re so proud of all your hard work this far. Tune into her story takeover tomorrow!

🇦🇺 From Sydney to the Spotlight 🇺🇸

Freshman goalkeeper Chloe Tseros hasn’t been in Buffalo long, but she’s already making major waves for Griffs women’s soccer. With a shutout win at Rider and a 3–0 start to MAAC play, the Aussie standout is proving she’s the real deal between the pipes.

Read more about how Tseros is becoming a key piece in the Griffs’ championship puzzle — now on The Griffin. 📰⚽️💪

✨ Stay Gold, Ponyboy. ✨

One of our writers at The Griffin attended The Outsiders musical at Shea’s and was so impressed, they saw it twice in one weekend. With powerful performances, emotionally charged music, and stunning stage effects (yes—actual rain and fire), the show brings S.E. Hinton’s classic to life in unforgettable ways.

📰 Meet Dr. Delaware Arif — the newest voice in Canisius journalism.

With global experience from Bangladesh to the U.S., Dr. Arif brings a storyteller’s soul and a journalist’s mind to the classroom (and The Griffin newsroom!).

From humble beginnings at Notre Dame College in Bangladesh to newsrooms like Reuters, Dr. Arif is on a mission to empower students to become creative, thoughtful storytellers — not just reporters.

We’re excited to welcome him as co-advisor of The Griffin and can’t wait to see how his journey inspires ours.

Kicking off the Editor of The Week posts is our social media manager and graphic designer…Sophie! (Me 🙋🏼‍♀️)

I am a senior double majoring in Integrated Marketing Communication and Digital Media Arts! A fun fact about me is that French Bulldogs are my favorite breed ever! I will have a visceral reaction if I see one in public. One of my life goals is to own one someday! 🐶

Hip hip hooray for me! Stay tuned for my story takeover tomorrow 🫵🏻

“You’re not welcome here.” That’s the message the 30-foot border wall in Nogales sends — but three Canisius students and faculty members traveled to the U.S.-Mexico border this August to see the human side of the story.

Partnering with the Kino Border Initiative, they witnessed immigration court, walked the desert route migrants take, and heard stories directly from people impacted by U.S. immigration policy. The result? A more informed and deeply personal understanding of migration, dignity, and hope.

Back to school means back to the library, and big changes are underway. The top floor of Bouwhuis Library is being transformed into the Golisano Center for Student Success, thanks to a generous $5M gift from philanthropist B. Thomas Golisano.

This new hub will bring together essential services like Career Development, Academic Mentoring, the Writing Center, and more — all under one roof to better support students on their academic journey. ✨

Construction began in June and is set to finish in Spring 2026. In the meantime, the library’s quiet floor has moved to the lower level (and yes, it’s staying quiet).
