Lockport, NY — UPDATE: Man pleads guilty to a fatal July 2025 crash.

September 8, 2026

28-year old Nicholas DiCarlo faces a maximum of 15 years in prison when he is sentenced in December after pleading guilty, as charged, to one county of second degree manslaughter.

According to the Erie County District Attorney's Office, "On Thursday, July 17, 2025, at approximately 8:56 p.m., the defendant was driving westbound on Saunders Settlement Road in Sanborn when his vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane as another vehicle ahead turned into a parking lot between Chew Road and Walmore Road. The defendant caused a head-on collision with a motorcyclist who was traveling in the eastbound lane. The victim, 26-year-old Hunter S. Weber, died at the scene."

Prosecutors say that DiCarlo was traveling at 75 mph in a 45-mph zone and using a mobile device at the time of the crash.
