Niagara Falls Man Sentenced to 90 Years in Prison For Armed Abduction & R**e
In the fall of 2023, law enforcement in Niagara Falls, NY began investigating two horrifying attacks on women walking alone late at night. Both incidents involved armed abductions, forced into secluded areas behind businesses, and s*xual assault.
The first incident was reported around September 19th, 2023 near a shopping plaza parking lot. Several weeks later, a second assault was reported on October 6th, 2023.
Following an investigation, Alexander Bryant of Niagara Falls, NY was taken into custody and remanded to the county jail without bail.
In September of 2025, after a jury trial, Alexander Bryant was found guilty on a series of the most serious charges brought against him. The convictions included:
Predatory S*xual Assault 1st degree
R**e 1st degree
Criminal S*xual Act - Multiple counts and degrees
Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree
The verdict came swiftly after the prosecution presented overwhelming evidence, including testimony from the victims and physical evidence linking Bryant to both attacks.
On December 3rd, 2025, Judge John J. Ottaviano imposed the maximum possible sentence: 90 years to life in prison.
In announcing the sentence, District Attorney Brian D. Seaman, who prosecuted the case along with members of the Special Victims Bureau, emphasized the severity for the crimes, pointing to the armed abductions, brazen assaults and the terror inflicted on the victims and the community. “There is no place in civilized society for someone who commits these crimes”.
We would like to applaud the hard work of the prosecution team and the judge on this case making the right decision to impose the maximum sentence.
This prosecution and sentencing is unfortunately very uncommon when it comes to s*x crimes in New York State, where most s*x crimes are offered ridiculous plea deals and minimal sentences.
This case sets the example of how every s*x crime, especially violent ones, should be handled.
To the victims of Alexander Bryant, the community is supporting you and has your backs all the way. Continue to heal and prosper through life despite the evil you have had to endure. You are a survivor, you are strong and you are worthy.
